Cool My Sprint Blue S5 modifications build thread...

OK - first few shots of the new motor! I'm absolutely LOVING this thing...

Mods so far have been:
- Eibach Springs
- H&R Spacers (20mm Fr/25mm R)
- Yellow PIAA Fog Lights
- 6000k HID Bulbs
- Tints (35 front, 20 rear and back)
- LED plate bulbs
- VAGCOM mods

I have a couple of other things planned, but for now, I'm just enjoying it! More photos to come in a few days....

Love the fact you're flying the flag. Did it influence your colour choice? Would have looked naff on meteor grey lol.

Enjoy the car

Oh hell yeah. It would have looked bad - real bad without the springs. The Eibachs are superb. I've always used them in the past - the build and ride quality is quite frankly superb. Very little roll, but still comfortable. And the drop, for me at least, is perfect. Even all the guys at the dealership were awestruck. They LOVED the look with the spacers and springs.

I appreciate the honesty - it was hard to take at the time, but boy am I glad I listened!

Thanks. Eibach only make one type of spring set-up for the S5 - that's what I have. The pro-kit.

Looks fab. Sprint blue is the best colour for the S5 IMHO. I love the way it looks even better in the sunshine which is finally starting to wake up in Blighty thank goodness.
The flag is great too btw!

This car needs desperately AWE exhaust! It won't just like like a beast, but it would also sound like a beast! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b311ym5K2Y

I know - the pipes don't do the car justice. But I actually like the stock sound - I don't desire a louder exhaust. I may get new larger tips installed to fill out the bumper, but no exhaust for me (at least not right now!)

Love it Zee - always wished I'd been bold enough to go with Sprint. But I knew the Home Secretary would have hated it. Mind you, she hates my Meteor car now, largely on acoount of.....the exhaust!

So I kind of get where you're coming from - but I already sense you wavering on that front..........

Fitted the K&N filter yesterday - improves the response and noise a tad...

BTR - Not the best pictures (taken with my BB) - but you get an idea of how yellow they are. In reality, they look 100 times better. I'll try to take some tonight with my proper camera.

RS5ive - I have ben wavering some on the exhaust, and I gotta be honest, the other half is very laid back in terms of what I do to the S5. She has her new Golf, so is happy! But, honestly, the sound right now is perfect for me. I'm keen on finding a place locally who can swap out my tailpipes though...

Thanks Bryan - Spacers have not impactted the ride quality at all in my opinion. The Eibachs are firmer, but I can't say the spacers have been negative at all - handling is superb.

Zee,

How do you like the 6000k bulbs? Do you lose any light output with the whiter color?
Can you post some night pics of the beams against a wall?

Thanks.

I like them. Is there a difference in the light output - yes. Is it significant? No. But I definately prefer the "whiter" look.

I'm out ouf town for 2 weeks, but will post some pictures when I return...

Yeah - the 25's at the back do rub if I go over a big dip or bump. Very rarely though....

Yep. 15 or 20 all round should be perfect. I think I may change my rears to 20 as I carry luggage and passengers every so often and Don;t want to worry about any rubbing...
