Default My 2010 A5 3.2L

Just making a log of stuff I plan on doing to my car, will update as I do things. Just in case other people plan on doing the same things I'd be happy to answer questions. Or if anyone can offer any advice I'd be more than grateful.

-Window Tint (don't know how dark I want to go yet)
-Vag-Com cables ordered(Should Arrive Monday)
--- -Rear LED taillights as DRLs
--- -DRLs don't turn off while signaling
--- -DRLs wont dim when full headlights are on
--- -Video in Motion
--- -Audi Drive select through MMI 3G (without being factory equipped)
-Volant CAI ordered (Should Arrive by the end of next week)

Possible doing an ECU remap, (one of these three http://www.a5oc.com/forums/showthrea...tml#post112571)

-not much feedback about any of them though and no confirmation on working on a 2010 model (apparently the ECU is different then previous years)

Kaz - can you do a dyno before and after on the intake? I'm sure it would be of interest to many... thanks!

Nice list growing there btw...

I'm not sure where I can do a Dyno on a AWD vehicle, if anyone knows anywhere on long island I'd be more then happy to, depending on the cost of course...Few questions about dyno, I've heard stories of engines being "blown" and destroyed, and cars jumping off the dyno and crashing, so exactly how safe is it to dyno a car? and does anyone know anything about the cost of doing a dyno?

I decided to go with the Volant CAI even without a dyno sheet for proof mainly based on the reviews of the only two people on the forum who had it installed, who both were more than happy enough with the $300+ they spent for what they got in return. What especially intrigued me was the MPG differences they experienced, sure there was no controlled experiment but I'm willing to take a $350(with shipping) chance that there is some kind of effect on MPG. Whether or not it improves HP or TQ would just be a plus.

Both people using the CAI said they experienced anywhere between 30-50 miles per tank more, thats more than enough to justify spending $350. Another factor is the lack of other improvements that can be made to the 3.2L engine lol, and for those who say that there will be no improvement and that basically I would be throwing my money away, I would like to ask if they have actual experience with this CAI in the A5 3.2l, because to me the only peoples opinions that would sway my decision on this item are the people who actually own it.

Also, (and I know I'm just rambling now lol) the forum members who used this both felt better throttle response and other minor performance improvements(yes, with no proof, I know) but I'm willing to take the chance that the Volant CAI, along with the Vag-Com update to enable ADS will further the degree at which these improvements are felt.

There are a bunch of dyno shops around you. I did a quick google, and a bunch of the scooby boys use AWD dynos around you. Average price seems to be between $100 and $200 for 3 pulls with a printout.

Yes, there have been instances of cars becoming loose on a dyno or a blown engine. But a car crashing is VERY rare and wouldn't occur at a reputable tuner, and blown engines are usually AFTER a car has been tuned (clearly, badly).

I've had many previous cars on many dyno's and never had an issue. Here are some links of place with Dyno's around you:

Alright, I'll arrange to get my car on a dyno, hopefully around the $100 mark lol and you don't think I'd have any issues on a dyno even though I only have 1600 miles?

Should I change anything on the first three pulls, like maybe do the first in D, and the next two in S, not sure if there would show any differance, I'm guessing there would be some kind of change. And then once I install the CAI, by that time I will have enabled "ADS" in my MMI, should I run the test on Dynamic or Comfort like it is now
