Default iPod on/off with AMI

It looks like my iPod stays on after I turn off the engine: It still displays the Audi logo in its little screen.

Any idea if it's normal? I thought the iPod would turn off? just afraid my battery might evenutally go...

Thanks.

It stays on for a while after turning off the engine. Mine does it, it's ok.
Mind you mine as a duff battery now. Fours years old as of this week. Most of the time the iPod is dead untill I switch the car on. Sometimes my car can be parked up for four days without moving. Once up nrunning it's fine.

I waited a while and the monitor still shows the Audi logo. I have an old iPod mini so I was wondering if all the AMI functionality was available. It looks like it except the shut off... Any idea how long is long? 2 mn or 20 mn? I am sure it does not eat much electricity but I'd hate to have to call help for my battery...

Thanks.

I use an old iPod Classic in mine. Leave it plugged in all the time as it's parked in my garage overnight. Never had any issue with either battery rundown or iPod rundown.

I constantly have the same problem with my iPod touch, and I constantly find the battery dead! Sometimes it wont even turn on cuz the battery is too drained to even start up without being charged.

I want to switch to one of my older ipods, but I'm dreading the idea of loading all my songs all over again!

isn't it just a simple case of plugging your old iPod in and pressins sync.
