Today I witnessed the best exhibition of poor driving skills and stupidity that I have seen for many years. Travelling west on the M4 between Newbury and Swindon I noticed a VW Golf with very poorly aligned after-market xenon headlights coming up behind me in the outside lane. I was already stuck behind five other cars who were very slowly overtaking the cars in the middle lane. The driver decided that he was not prepared to wait and overtook in lane one before cutting out into lane two again. Realising that he now had nowhere to go (lane three was still full) he then decided to undertake again. This time he got stuck in lane one behind a van and to the side of a row of cars in lane two. Eventually he managed to get out into lane three and floored it. Once he caught up with more traffic, if the cars in front did not move out of his way immediately he resorted to whichever lane had a gap and weaved constantly between all three lanes as he saw fit. Several cars flashed lights to indicate the stupidity of his driving but he was completely oblivious. Once he exited at Swindon and subsequently off the A404 (I think) towards Swindon town centre, I passed him just before he exited, so for at least ten miles of inconsiderate, stupid and downright dangerous driving he gained absolutely nothing except a well-deserved reputation as a complete twat. So, if you are in the Swindon area and come across a grey, X registration golf GTI with cling film for a back window and a young, asian driver, beware - he is an accident looking for somewhere to happen.

Well said.
Anyway, I agree AB - it's hard not to get wound-up about these things - there's so many of the roads' population who frankly lack all of the qualifications (skill/temperament, etc) required to play with the rest of us. And there is no template for the offenders - I've witnessed many IC1/2/3 males/females driving old/new immaculate/beat-up vehicles perform in such a way. You just have to hope that they, and they alone, come to grief in a really bad way, although many of them would even be immune to that...... |

Whats up MOTM? Is it that your'e getting so fed up with people keep shouting Plonker at you when your'e in your Reliant that you need to take it out on a poor Aging Biker !
As a fellow audi driver, I will certainly look out for this "Twat" on the M4. I get very frustrated with idiots on the M4 who undertake and cut people up just to get a cars length ahead, It winds people up and for what reason! Try driving in Italy- where drivers will sit right up your ass, flash lights and take any risky manovere just to get past the car in front (even though there is 3 endless lanes of traffic. I find a long and exaggertated W@nker sign usually is enough to satisfy my anger!. That reminds me, on the way home westbound on the M4 the otherday, I had the roof down- two absolute W@nkers in a VW who were in the middle lane suddenly floored it and pulled in front of me ,I thought what a prick, then he puts his windscreen washers on for about 30 seconds, pulled back in the middle lane and braked so they'd thought they'd laugh at me. I sat there motionless and raised my hands as in WTF, accelerated past them and gave them the big W sign. Were they that stupid that they thought they'd get me wet. Why do these w@nkers think that just because you drive a bit of a poncy motor that you are going to be a big wuss- one day they'll have a big suprise when a 6ft 16 stone rugby player follows them off the motorway and kicks two bales of sh!t out of them. ![]() Last edited by Howdi Audi; 17th June 2010 at 02:04 PM. |

No thanks MOTM, it's getting a bit late for those now - should generally be planted out by end of May/early June (but sure you already knew that, hence why you are trying to offload them I guess?)
Seeing as you seem so concerned with appropriate posting, perhaps rather than hijacking AB's thread I might respectfully suggest you'll find more luck starting a new thread advertising your wares in the "For Sale and Group Buys" sub-forum. I'm sure there will be lots of interest in them on an A5/S5 forum. Good luck with it, let us know how you get on ![]() FWIW, I'm personally very interested in AB's original topic, especially living within the M4 corridor and witnessing poor motorist behaviour on a fairly regular basis.

I agree with the topic just not sure what chance there is of spotting the same car in the same place with the same driver.
Driving standards are pretty crap these days, lots of damaged caused to cars and property with no-one ever owning up. I would like to think Audi drivers set good standards although sadly with so many incomers there is little chance of this and way too much aggression too. Have offloaded the runner bean plants to John nearby ( a BMW man) but we did a shop with some Tommy Plants so I'm happy. ;-) |

Thanks, everyone. I was very careful about which section I posted this in. As for MOTM (or whatever he is called this week), his comments bother me not a jot. The intention of posting was both selfish (to get it off my chest) and to warn others in the area to be on the lookout for their own safety. I would have thought that if this is the w@nker's route to/from work then the possibility of encountering him would be quite high. The fact that he was asian was merely an observation to help others identify him and not intended to be a slur nor to perpetuate any racial stereotype. It's good to see that the majority on here have taken the post as it was intended. Thanks guys.

Excellent thread - haven't been online for awhile as I'm no longer worthy. Great to see that nothing changes !
Anyone have any comments on personalised number plates? |

We've been waiting for the Petrol-V-Diesel thread to conclude before we started on the number plates again. We've not done the re-sale value on non-satnav cars for a while, so that's always an option.

Too easy.
Black is the only colour to have that isn't a colour. But white is quite trendy now. Blue is always smart and classy. Then any shade of grey/silver you can think of is unbeatable. But Has anybody seen a deep green one? ![]()
