£2000 and that was with an independent. I'm fed up of paying silly money for Audi servicing that's a bit crap. Plus, it's done 87000 miles now.

Arad85 - That wasn't me I'm afraid. I used to be up and down the M4 a lot but not recently. More likely to see me on the A303/M3 at the moment.

There's obviously 2 Sepang Blue RS5's around. Common as muck 'round these parts

My fronts are squealing like crap at the moment. When coming to a stop it's embarrassing! Car is only 16 months old. I am due to talk to Derby Audi about another vehicle for a rep at work so might have a word about the brakes.

Hope they don't cost anywhere near as much to replace on the S5 as 2k is damn expensive!

When my front and rears needed doing I had the following at the same time

Gearbox Oil - Front Final Drive
Gearbox Oil - Rear Final Drive
ATF Oil Change - Rear Final Drive
Front Brake Pads
Rear Brake Pads
Front Rotors
Rear Rotors
Variable Service
Oil Change

I paid a bit less than £2k - but that was at Derby Audi .... dunno why an independent was so much?

depends on deals on parts I suppose - for example

Genuine Audi RS4/RS5/R8 2013-2016 Wavy Front Discs SPECIAL OFFER PRICE | eBay

If you pay audi full price these are just shy of £1k - but the parts departments normally have deals on?

TBH I have not found independents much cheaper and have stayed within the dealer network for that reason - I suppose it depends on your relationship. Been using derby Audi now for 13yrs since my first A4, perhaps there is a benefit to loyalty

I've found the service manager at derby Audi to be a very reasonable and helpful guy.

Martyn used to be one of the best expert mechs in the workshop and was promoted - understands the cars and the customers - unusual to find but great to trust your car too

We have had 4 cars from Derby Audi in the last 4 years and the serice has always been excellent but I didn't use them for the first service and oil change as they wanted over £500! Northampton Audi came in at £385 and an Indy was £275. As it was the first one I went with Northampton Audi but going forward will probably use an independent.
It's crazy how much the prices differ.

Little trick - ask to supply your own engine oil - it makes it so much cheaper as the Audi price per litre is something they have no control over. I have found that with my 4.2 the quotes differ as some overquote oil to make sure they have covered it.

Dartmin - I'm impressed with that price. When having mine service by Audi dealers down here it's always been very expensive. Would have thought the materials for the oil changes and brakes would have expensive enough even before you got to the £120-150ph labour. Maybe it's just expensive down south!
