Thanks so much Jo! I called Dandy today and will go see them this weekend. Will take your advice and get the resonator taken out first. I'd like to keep it as close to "stock" looking as possible or else my girlfriend will kill me!!

I was really close to getting a 2nd hand S5 but sanity prevailed and i ended up getting a brand new A5. No where near as fun to drive as I test drove a S5 and was blown away by it! I got swayed by the free servicing they threw in because I work for a bank and the fact that I get a BRAND NEW car.

I plan on just doing the very basics to it, suspension (I got the sports suspension package but I'd prefer it sitting on the tyres not 2 inches above!), exhaust and maybe a filter. Have you done anything to the engine at all - I was thinking just a replacement filter BMC do something for 400.

The car itself is beautiful to drive I just want it to look a little more agressive. Open to any ideas you may have

    Thanks again

Hi Mahen and congrats on your new purchase!

You'll see recommendations all over the forum to go with Milltek, MTM, GMG, Stasis and B&B systems. They're all good but you can achieve the same results from an experienced local exhaust specialist and not pay the freight to ship half way around the world. You also get to choose which tips you want and how they sit under the rear valence. I'm saying this because I spent $6,000 on an MTM system and have replaced it with a locally produced system that cost me $2000 and sounds ten times better!

I got my Mille Miglia system fitted at HiTech Mufflers in Sydney, their systems including mufflers are Australian made! HiTech's partner in Melbourne is:

    Dandy Exhaust
    104 Cheltenham Rd
    Dandenong
    PH (03) 9794 7632
Ask for Vinnie, his mobile 0412 376 123

If I were you, I'd ask them to cut out the rear resonator, this should cost $300-$500 and take a couple of hours. This will give you a deeper sound and retain the stock look. Try this for a few weeks and if you want more, replace the mufflers and choose whichever tips you want, this should cost $1500-$2000

In terms of springs, H&R and Eibach are two reliable brands who specialise in german cars. Not sure who their agent is in Melbourne but I'd suggest calling:

Heasman Steering (arguably he best suspension outfit in Australia)
    (02) 9557 3739

    Hope this helps

Hi mate. I just bought an A5 3.2 Quattro on friday. Love it!! its Black on Black and i managed to get them to put 19" S5 rims on it. Do you know where I can get a good cat back exhaust for the A5. Nothing too loud just want to get a deeper note. Also, what do you think about just changing the springs on it. I bought a new A5 and it has a sports suspension fitted but I wanted it to sit an inch lower. Do you know of any good mod places in Melbourne?
