Fuel filter priming with VCDS

I'm about to change my fuel filter on my A5 3.0 TDI Quattro, the workshop manual says to prime the system using the VAG diagnostic tester.

From the Audi workshop manual:

'Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester.
Switch on Ignition.
Select "Engine Electronics" in vehicle self-diagnostics.
Then select "Basic Setting".
Select "checking fuel system pressurisation pump" from the list.
Press "Start Button".
The fuel pumps start running.
The fuel pumps must run for approx. 3 minutes to ensure that the high pressure pump is filled with sufficient fuel.

I have VCDS, so I would hope I could do the same with it.
Trouble is I haven't a clue where to find correct place!
So could some nice person give me an idiots guide on how to do it using VCDS please?

Thanks
Ian

I changed my fuel filter last month.

Here is a video, dead easy, go into Engine > Basic settings, then choose Test fuel pump from drop down menu https://youtu.be/c60kY2zqOgI

It will run for about 3 minutes before turning itself off. I did mine a few times as the engine still takes some starting, but let it idle for a few minutes, it shouldn't cut out.

Hi Dave

Thanks for this, sadly the youtube link doesn't work!
https://youtu.be/c60kY2zqOgI

I've found various youtube videos but non show the same options that my VCDS has.
If you can post the correct link I'd be very grateful.

Managed to get the youtube video to load, problem with my internet connection!
My VCDS does not have the same drop down menu, so the option isn't there!
This could be that it is hooked up to a Seat Ibiza and not a 2010 3.0 TDI A5!
Any other leads please?

If you go into Engine > Basic settings and see if you have an option to test fuel pump. This is how I did mine using VCDS.
