airbag light errors

Hi gang,

I have had the airbag lights lit on the A5 since I got it, and managed to get a code reader today (OBDEleven) and ran a scan through the system. There were quite a few errors which all pointed back to the airbag control unit. The airbag section itself had a lot of errors in it, as:-

crash sensor for side airbag, driver side, implausible signal
crash sensor for side airbag, front passenger side, implausible signal
crash sensor for front airbag, driver side, implausible signal

etc etc.
reading between the lines, i would guess that they are all connected to one thing, and from reading about I am guessing this is niot going to be cheap

Any advice (other than dont get a lift off me lol)

cheers

Have you tried clearing these/ran a diagnostic using carista?
If they reappear then you need to get these checked out otherwise you should be good to go...

when I ran the scanner, there were a multitude of errors across the system, from the dash display to the locking petrol cap, all came back to the airbag control module. Seems strange that this can affect so much across the system, but hey its an important bit. unfortunately I am being made redundant so have to get a job now before i can get this looked at by Audi (as I am guessing it is a main dealer part). I can reset all errors except the airbag section, so it looks like it is duffed. I have checked the fuse in the boot, which was fine (although i knew that would be fine before looking lol)

I was told about an airbag control unit recall but that only seems to be america?

Ive got the OBDEleven pro system, and that wont reset it as it looks as though the airbag control module needs replacing. At a rough guess I would say thats about a grand to replace
