Nope, definitely an "S", although the confusion is understandable - italic typefaces, especially san serifs, can make a capital "S" and a "5" look quite similar. And, the "O" in "O5" really is an "O", just a condensed weight (which squeezes letters laterally). I've actually got the typefaces used for the logo written down somewhere, because... nerd.
One other point that might shed some additional light - type rendered to a bitmap for digital applications, particularly at very small sizes, often starts to break down and lose it's clarity. Why? Because pixels are square, not round, so curves at really itty-bitty sizes look blocky.
Then your sister and I are BOTH amazing and talented people! Yes, for my sins, I am a graphic designer and, yes, we do tend to bang on about type. Occupational hazard, I'm afraid.
