Hi,
I own an Audi A5 3.0 2007, with 106k on the clock. I have encountered a few problems with it as I would expect with its age.. But this latest problem, I'm not sure what it is.
If I was to press the accelerator hard in 1st and 2nd gear and go passed 2500rpm quickly, the glow plugs (coil) light flashes but then after a few seconds the car cuts out. Everything shows as still working, but the car cuts out. Speedo still shows its working. If I try push the key in whilst this happens.. To restart the car as the steering goes really heavy, so I know it's officially cut out, it stutters and judders but does not start. It seems like it's trying to start, but just cannot. I then press the key again, the car fully turns off, from which then I can turn the car on without any issues.
Once the car is back on, the glow plugs light is no longer on...unless I press the car in 1st or 2nd gear again.
If I was to press it in any other gear, it would run fine.
Throughout this whole time, the engine management light does not come on... And still is not on.
Nor does the car drop into limp mode for a duration of time.
Now I've had a new throttle module put in, and a new inlet manifold due to having some dpf issues a short while ago.
Recently the dpf light came back on, and I took the car for a drive to clear it at 50mph. I thought I'd press the car to see if the issue had been fixed by some miracle.. And when I did, the car in 1st and 2nd gear pulled off as it should without any issues. Turbo was kicking at full pressure and everything.
After 40mins of driving, I thought I'd see if the issue had still sorted itself out somehow. So I pressed it, and the engine cut out. Only difference was... The dpf light was cleared. It seemed to bypass something when the dpf light was on the dash but I can't grasp what is happening.
Ive spoken to a few people in regards to this... Some say it may be that the CPU has water inside it, and some say it may be injectors.
Has anyone else encountered a problem such as this? Or have any ideas towards what it can be. I would highly appreciate any comments!
Thanks
