Steering Update

Just an FYI...

I just had the car in for its first service. When I picked it up, the tech said that there was a TSB for the steering and that they updated the software.

I always thought the steering could be heavier and it was a bit floaty, especially at higher speeds. I also noted that there was a bit of play that shouldn't be there.

Well, the new software did the trick.

Just driving through town I noticed and immediate improvement. I put the ADS in Dynamic and it really weighted up nicely. Not as much as I would like, but better than it was. I didn't notice any play in the steering either. I'll give it a proper test in the AM on my way to work.

all face-lifts - which have the new electro-mechanical power-steering - will get a software-update.

I'm a bit surprised that there are no very long threads about this on A5OC.
on dutch and german forums, this is a major topic.

I knew of the software update and was expecting it.

I'm surprised as well as I couldn't find much on this forum or the other two I'm on. A Google search brought up some, but still not as much as I would expect for something like this. Especially when some people can beat other posts about nothing to death.

being in Germany, I would think you have looked at motor-talk.de
