Gearbox specialist recommendations? S-Tronic problem :(

Well, here I am just over a month into proud ownership of my Audi A5... and out of nowhere the car hits limp mode and I discover faults;

P176B00 - Gear selector 2 cannot be regulated
and
P17E000 Gear selector 1 mechanical malfunction

When in limp mode I get "Gearbox malfunction, reverse not found, safe to continue driving" - although its not as the car wont really move, and TPMS warnings.

I've spoken to a few places, and little did I realise that my beloved 2011 A5 is very well known for having an increadibly unreliable and weak gearbox. This one is quite common at around my mileage (50K) and needs a Mechatronic unit apparently, otherwise seemingy described as new loom, circuit board, and sensor... and depending on who you ask, they might just insist on a clutch selector/assembler while you're at it. None of which is cheap- unsurprisingly.

Joy.

So, given these units are so apparently troublesome, I'm hoping someone on here has suffered the same problem but discovered a reliable gearbox person in the process they can recommend?

Really bracing my wallet for this one. I've discovered its also got a slow leak from the box (luckily was recently topped up so levels are ok), so its going to be a gearbox out job in any case *sigh*

Thanks
Grangey
