Cracked alloy, kaput?

Says it all in the title. Replacing the tyres on my buggered old 20"s opened up a tiny hairline crack, about 1" long on the rolling part of the wheel (sure there's a technical name for this) and thus is farting out its airy contents at a rate of about 10psi a day.
Would something like this be fixable by a quality refurb/remanufacturer or does it have to go in the bin?

Beep beep.

Sure it's fixable, find a local good alloy refurb specialist

don't take it to any tyre place as such as they will just weld it for you, but if the problem is in the geometry of the wheel the crack will open up someplace else and in the end you will still have same problem after some time, had a crack in mine on my old car, welded - so it stayed fine for about a year and after that when i changed my tires had to get a new rim as it had something like 3 cracks, weirdly enough wasn't leaking any air, but still had to go to skip...

I think I'll book it in with pristine alloys then, they seem very highly rated, and I think they'll do a good job. It's cheaper to have all 4 refurbished than it is to buy a single new one :'(

Had the wheels refurbished, the bodywork polished and rear badges removed. Just fitted the pedal box booster thing too.....makes Sport redundant.

Will do, I'll take some before and after pictures, when I manage to find a week I can be without wheels...
I should be fine driving gently gently and constantly pumping it up for now right?

Yeah I guess so. My wheel specialist lent me a set of wheels while he refurbished mine so I was never off the road......

I think air escaping is the least of your worries. I would imagine that the structural integrity of the wheel is severely compromised if it has a crack in it

Already booked in with Pristine as they're 5 minutes from the house, and seem well reviewed. Dealers and the likes recommended them often, can't be too bad.

Alloy was binned, beyond repair as the crack was huge. Around 2" straight across the wheel from the inside edge. RIP wheel
