Thumbs up Photoshop help needed (Alloys colour change)

Hi guys

I'm new to the forum, recently purchased myself a 57 plate A5 3.0 TDI

Looking to change a few little things on the car, but would love to see what it looks like, any one any good with photoshop who can change the colour of the wheels to anthracite, along with black mirrors and tinted rear windows

Would really appreciate it

Also i'm more than open to suggestions on what colour to go with the wheels, i just thought anthracite would be best, and also any other mods anyone can suggest

Thanks alot
Mike

Hello Mike and welcome to the forum. Many of these guys really know loads about the A5 and you can have alot of laffs too!! Your A5 is the same colour and year as mine, and I have just ordered a set of those lovely carbon fibre mirror golders too. When I bought my car she was in a very neglected condition and the lovely rotor wheels were badly scarred with numerous bad scratches so I had them reconditioned and now they look really like new. And the place I had them done suggested anthracite and they look really classy. I have loaded a pic in my garage so I think that you can see them there. Have fun!!! Simon

You and me both, mate! A job I've been putting off for far too long. Part of the problem is I can't finally make up my mind between black and red. Decisions, decisions...

Photoshop help needed (Alloys colour change)

Which, Mike, illustrates one of the problems associated with painting calipers - which colour will work best?
Lighter cars respond well to brighter colours, so red sits well with a white or light silver car - it pops more in the visual negative space of the wheel wells. The same thing happens with darker coloured cars, except it tends to overwhelm everything else, and pulls the eye to the bright spot to the visual detriment of the rest of the car. So, dark coloured calipers visually integrate better on dark cars.
Having said all that, the most important consideration is what makes you happy.
(Apologies. I've been a graphic designer for the last 25 years, and I go into lecture mode whenever anyone starts talking colour!)

That one made me chuckle Julian and I too am thinking about red calipers.

Re wheels just for your information I had the A5 rotors refurbished and they suggest the anthracite and I agree that they look great with the silver car. Then I had a set of Merc alloy wheels which were off an old E class so perhaps 10 years old, when I took them to be refurbished (my Vito is red) the guys suggested black wheels, and I think they also look great. Here follows a pic:

shadow chrome, or black, dont go to the wheel specialist they have hiked their prices up, theres a guy out in newmachar. Think 280 all in thats a full power coating front and back not the usual nonsense with only the face being done in your colour, this guy does the whole wheel in the colour, 100% job also.

Ok thanks for all the thoughts guys, much appreciated

Yeah I got in touch with the guys in newmachar and didn't find them very helpful, was an email I sent and they were pretty blunt and straight to the point, not very friendly

I asked to have wheels, mirrors, calipers and windows tinted, was quoted £580 which is reasonable, but then I asked for a wee cheeky deal and the lot for 500/550 and was told "no" lol

I tried. I am no photoshop expert, and I have shaky hands. Probably did the wheels way too dark too. Went all over the tyres as well
