Question Racechip vs Revo remap (or equivalent) 2.0tfsi Quattro

Hi all,
Want to get a bit more power out of my 2011 2.0tfsi 208bhp a5 Quattro
Torn between a remap and a tuning box, had a DTUK box on my previous car ( Astra 1.9cdti)and it worked without problems and definitely gave more power.

I like the idea of a box as it can be removed if the car was sold or if I needed to use the 3rd part warranty I've purchased, but I know a proper remap on a rolling road will be specific to my car and seems more reliable plus I'd get an actual before and after BHp figures

Also, had my engine rebuilt by Audi last august due to the oil consumption (they paid 90%) so I have a 2 year engine warranty with them and don't want to void it. Heard they cannot detect a remap unless it's put on a rolling road?

From what I've seen racechip seems the most reputable for a tuning box and revo with a remap
Racechip ultimate chip is 399 taking the car up to 275bhp 451nm
Revo is 499 with up to 261-290bhp 431-472nm
Can anyone recommend these? Open to other company's if they're reputable
Thanks in advance

Given you've purchased a 3rd party warranty, I think the tuning box is the better option. I suspect that even if you removed the tuning box and had an engine problem, if a garage looked hard enough they maybe could see a tuning box has been used...might be wrong though!

A remap can be detected (again if they are looking for it) whether it had a rolling road or not. It's just changes to the ECU they are looking for as I understand it.

The tuning box is certainly the lower risk of the two.

I agree the tuning box is less risky, think I'm leaning toward that at the moment.
Does anyone have experience with racechip though?
A guy at work has one on his BMW 2.0tdi and recommends it. Don't know what's itd be like with the 2.0tfsi? not seen any reviews on this forum

Nope sorry. Only one I've heard of it DTUK. Don't know if they do one for the 2.0TFSI though.
