Removing Stone guards

Hey guys,

I just ordered a 2014 A5 with the s line competition package in Misano Red. Not a fan of the brilliant black mirror caps and blades. I was going to remove them and paint them Misano Red to match the rest of the car.

Anyone have the instructions on how to remove the Blades? I know to use fishing line to cut thru the tape, but wasn't sure on how to pop off the clips/blade off the car. Is there a special way to take them off?

Thanks.

Any Audi techs want to chime in? Anyone else has a guess on how they come off without damaging the car or blades? Thanks a million.

s line competition package blades are the same ones that come on the regular s line a5's except they are painted black as are the mirror caps. I guess this package is called the black edition or black optic package outside the USA.

Thanks.

I'm in UK, I've a Sportback Black Edition & my wife a Coupe Black Edition, blades/spoilers/sills/door mirrors are all body coloured. Black Edition (UK) means no chrome fittings at all on outside of car except for exhaust tailpipe tips, Audi 'rings', badges etc. 'Piano black' interior fittings (as opposed to brushed aluminium on non-Black Editions) & privacy glass (B post backwards), Rotor alloys, flat bottom steering wheel etc.
Competition must be a unique US trim? Thanks for the information :-).

Thanks for this! Need to remove them as well, some color is peeling of because of the stones that are thrown by wheels and need re-painting...

No need for them....Get some fishing line to cut the double sided tape at the front and rear of the blade...About 2-3 inches and you will the be able to pull the blade off.

2014 S line competition package A5 6spd.
