Why not install one in the trunk/boot (probably easier to access power)?
Oh, and why?

I just purchased a cool box with 12V connecter to use when I head to France in the summer. You dont really need to fit it, I just stand it on the front seats and plug it in cos it keeps the drinks and food cold for the 12 hour motorway drive. Halfords sell them. You need to check how much space u have and how long the lead is.

19" Y spokes with Pirelli P-Zeros.
162,000km. Leather interior. Love it !!
Recently had the wheels refurbished, bodywork polished, badges removed and fitted the pedal box booster. Full set of new Brembo discs and pads just fitted and calipers repainted in silver. New carbon mirror covers.

Well that's what I was hoping for, a retro fit, just to hold a few bottles of water or something, I did look into one I could stick in the boot but my car doesn't have a 12v plug in there... and couldn't see anything that looked nice and not just like a cooler

Or even looking at the glove box option

If you're interested, Mike, there's an excellent article on fitting a 12v plug in the boot. A great little mod.

Ah sorry now I understand. I use mine on the front middle seat of my van and have never tried it in the A5. Would be lovely to have one between rear seats. Please let us know what you find.

You can get one of these, if you want to keep it in the family. I've got one, and it works really well.

PN is 4L0065402. Price is... all over the place! I've seen them on Fleabay for anywhere from 120 to over 270! All the same thing, mind you. Go figure.

By the way, it's a thermoelectric cooling system - Peltier Effect - so it'll theoretically only create a 20degC difference. In practice, it's actually a little less than that - somewhere between 15 and 18degC below ambient.
