Thumbs up Retrofit reverse camera/kufatec wires

Hi,

Im almost finished retrofitting reverse camera(Boot) and module(8T0907441C) I have used the KUFATEC harness. The reverse camera(Boot) has been rigged up and connected to the reverse module. The Green and Grey wires have been plugged in to the module and wires rigged up on the driverside to the front.

This is the tricky part KUFATEC instructions aren't the best. I have 2 wires with 2 pin connectors on each end. Apparently these are the CAN and MMI(Video) wires. One has HIGH and LOW marked on it and the other has BLACK and TRANSPARENT(Video) connectors.

I need to know which wires go to the CAN and MMI unit. Im lead to believe the Black and Transparent wire is the Video wire and needs to go in the back of the MMI unit in pin location (5)Blk and (11)Tra.

Grey wires with HIGH and LOW marked on it go to the Can Connector and Low inserted into PIN 18 and High into PIN 23???

Is this correct? Or other way around as the wire with High and Low looks a little short and might next reach the Can connector on the passengerside, even routed through behind the steering wheel and behind MM unit???

Can anyone confirm this is the correct set up please? I hope my explanation is clear if so this may help other members trying to retrofit Reverse camera.

Cheers.

PEACE & LOVE.

CAN LOW/HIGH must always be connected together, so both 18 -->18L and 18H.

Kufactec sells the whole kit. Whereas Im just after the module. I bought the wiring from them and the camera/handle from ebay for £55.

Just don't know how much the modules go for. I've found few that have part number starting from 8R0 rather than 8T0 however they have the same software number running on them. Few posts I've read mention that only the module starting with 8T0 will work.

Check with your local dealer, they can look up the part number if you don't have ETKA yourself.

Kufetec wiring is well known to be either too short or fitted with wrong plugs etc. Just make sure you plug the CAN wires into the correct ones as their are different ones ie Powertrain, Infotainment, etc Also enable the camera in gateway 19

Ok so the wire with the 2 pin connectors at the end marked HIGH and LOW is definitely the wire thats inserted into the CAN connector located in the passengerside dash by the fuses?

The other wire with with the 2 pin connectors also but one wire BLACK and other TRANSPARENT go into the back of the MMI unit?

Just to confirm sorry to be a pain.

PEACE & LOVE.

As you can see the CAN wires originally are on position 15L/15H of the canhub. T46s being the big CAN plug.
