Could you take a picture of the version ... strange P0475 is A4/A5/Q5/Q7 ... for A6/A7/A8 should be P0485. And do you have sim slot or not?
Cheers.

It's got P so it most likely left the factory at that firmware level - it may well be the earliest available for the A6?

You can use 2016 maps as here and I believe there is an activator available for firmware version 0900 without SIM, but it's not on this site.

Congo may be able to provide more info

I don't take money for that kind of services If you "brick" your mmi that's different.
From what i know about the activator for the 3GP is "Your VIN will continue to be visible and you will also be able to activate all your online entitlements as per normal."
Will send you a link from where to download the firmware (just to upload it), the update process is almost the same as for the 3G High so the Adrian's manual should work ... will try to create one for 3GP ... no one near me has 3GP so waiting.

Well it's always possible but unlikely. MMI can be bricked if the update is interrupted, if the update media is corrupted, if wrong software is used though the MMI itself checks the software first but bad things do happen once in a while. There is always a possibility of internal flash error. In 99.9% of the cases the process is flawless and the result is good.
Last week for example i had to re flash one 3G High due to modified software.

Yep.
So you have Audi A6/C7/4G S line 2011 equipped with MMI 3GP with software version HN+R_EU_AU_P0475 and MAP 5.12.5 2011 Edition MMI 3G HDD (HDD,3D,Joystick).
The update path should be K_0518 -> K_0612 -> K_0614 -> K_0770 -> K_0900
I will triple check the software before give it to you. One question ... Do you have Bose ?

Hello, so I tried to update my firmware and maps but wasn't successful because I got this every time I tried to do it:

"A variant conflict occurred!
Main Unit variant: 9303
Release info variant 9307 9308"

Does anyone know what I could do in this situation?

Thank you.

I just looked back through your old posts - you're in the wrong thread for updating your nav!! You have BNav aka 3G Basic. You need different firmware updates and different map files.

0260 is the latest BNav firmware and map database is 5.22.3

Hi @jarico
You will need the following firmware updates:
• 8R0 906 961 T – HNav_EU_K0031_3_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU031) [31m]
• 8R0 906 961 AS – HNav_EU_K0206_3_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU206) [30m]
• 8R0 906 961 СС – HNav_EU_K0253_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU253) [10m]
• 8R0 906 961 DF – HNav_EU_K0257_5_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU257) [14m]
• 8R0 906 961 DQ – HNav_EU_K0257_6_D1 (SVM: 3GHEU2576) [15m]
Use the link that Adrian E posted. MMI 3G navigation 6.22.4 and firmware updates - currently 2016
Follow the update sequence : K0031 -> K0206 -> K0253 -> K0257_5 -> K0257_6 then the MAP then the activator.
Again in the first post there is complete manual (thanks to @Adrian E). Use it, it will help you. In addition i can propose this manual for the software upgrade and errors in 5F removal https://mega.nz/#!A0IFhQgL!qwGQUkhsq..._F0ih3uezYtGOY
If you have any issues or questions during or after the update do not hesitate to contact me. I have joined the forum to help others hoping that some day when i need help there will be someone to help me

Cheers.
p.s. In the brackets you can find the SVM code needed if you have genuine VAS and the duration that the update will take.

You may do it with only one card, and i have information that 64GB card will work:

1. Format the card in exFat with SD Formatter program
2. Format the card to FAT32 format using guiformat 32Bit or guiformat 64Bit

My advice is to buy 32GB if you can.

p.s. Don't have 64GB card on hand to try

@Tihi2

You have a lot of firmware-updates to do first. I also have a (A4 AVANT 2010) MMI 3G with HDD. Everything works fine as long as you follow the guide from Adrian.

Hello gents

I hope u all can help

I have a 2012 Audi A5 with 3G basic sat nav. With SD card slots
Currently I have my maps running off a sad sd card instead of leaving the DVD in the drive. Works fine. But I want to update to the latest software and maps

This is what I currently have

Software version : BNAV_EU_P0206_D1

Nav database version : 4G0919884K ECE 5.13.8

the questions I have are

Am I right to say I have to update the software and nav database separately?

Can I use the links in this thread. Is it all compatible?

Currently my sat nav is a plan Wien only, will doing this update give me the more up to date 3D view as well as other features? What are the other main features if I update to most current software?

I'm pretty confident on following the instructions given. Just need a little understanding about the software really.

Thanks

In all honesty I don't know, but I'm not aware of any method to backup the firmware. Since most of the firmware has never been subject to change I would imagine a full download of the firmware on every module would be quite a task. I'm not a coder but I'd also assume it's not as simple as reading it as installed to be able to put it back?

I would have to add a 'kind of working but displaying odd behaviour' as a 3rd option, but I would expect it to be fine.

You could try reading up on your firmware but I'm 99% sure it was to install a specific DAB fix at customer request. I would expect that fix to have been part of a later firmware release so may not have actually been done to that many vehicles.
Thought I'd post a quick update in case anyone else had a similar odd firmware.

I just went for it in the end, all completed successfully without a hitch. About 2.5 hours I think it was.

Thanks to Adrian for this great DIY!
